The Siam Guest House

Down a Nong Prue side lane off Soi Buakhao, The Siam is the kind of cheap, long-running guesthouse Pattaya regulars keep in their back pocket. The beer bars are a two-minute walk, the LK Metro gogos not much further, and the baht bus to Walking Street runs from the top of the road.

Rooms are plain: aircon, hot shower, wifi, a bed you’ll mostly use to sleep off the night before. Nobody’s pretending it’s a resort and the price says so. Staff are the easygoing sort you want at a budget place.

Guest policy

The directories list it as guest friendly, no joiner fee for a visitor. We haven’t checked that ourselves, so treat it as reported and ask the guesthouse directly before you turn up; small places like this rarely spell it out, and policies drift. Your guest signs in with ID either way, as every Thai hotel requires.

The verdict

1,280 reviews averaging 8.3 is a lot of people agreeing a cheap place does its job. If you want to be in the middle of the budget-bar corridor without paying for a pool you won’t use, it’s an easy yes.
