Hotel Review
Sunshine Hotel & Residences
★★★★ 4/5
Guest friendly — no joiner fee
Published 12 June 2026
Pros
- On Soi 8, a short walk to both the beach and Second Road
- Free parking on-site — rare for central Pattaya
- Large property with 275 rooms, concierge, and tour desk
- Daily housekeeping and room service included
Cons
- Rooms last renovated in 2010, so expect a dated feel
- Soi 8 can get noisy at night given its proximity to the beach strip
On Soi 8 off Beach Road, Sunshine Hotel & Residences puts you right in the middle of central Pattaya — the beach is a few minutes on foot, and Walking Street is a short taxi ride south. Soi Buakhao and LK Metro are also reachable without much effort, so you’re not locked into one part of town. The surrounding streets are busy and commercial, which suits people who want convenience over quiet.
The hotel opened in 1981 and was renovated in 2010, so interiors are functional but won’t win any design awards. That said, the 275-room size means availability is rarely a problem, and the property covers the basics well: free Wi-Fi, free parking, airport transfer booking, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes, dry cleaning, laundry, and a ticket and tour desk. Some rooms come with blackout curtains, a balcony or terrace, and cable TV.
Guest policy
We haven’t verified the guest-friendly policy ourselves, so treat it as reported until the hotel confirms it directly — a quick call to the front desk settles it before you book. As Thai law requires, every guest registers their ID at reception on check-in.
The verdict
Across 7,162+ Agoda reviews the score holds at 7.8/10, solid for a three-star in this price bracket. It suits travellers who want a central base with parking and practical amenities, and don’t mind rooms that show their age.
